1 1/2 years old!

I know, I don't update this very often but I don't think that many actual still read it. Facebook seems to have taken over.

Grace turned 18 months old yesterday. It was her half year birthday. I can't believe it. She is growing in leaps and bounds. Not only is she growing every day, she is becoming quite the talked. Right now she is watching Dora the Explorer and repeating everything they say. 'Backpack' 'Map' 'Swiper'.

We had dinner last night with Grandma and Grandpa, Pete and Karla and Matt, Carrie and Owen. Grace was quite the entertainer. We were at Red Robin for over an hour and she was so well behaved, I was impressed. She is getting so grown up, it makes me a little sad but very happy at the same time. She is developing into such a character with an awesome personality. I can't wait to see what kind of person she continues to become. I love you Grace!!

One year old!!!!!

Where has the year gone? I am in awe at how fast it went. I feel like Grace Marie was just born last week. She has grown into the greatest toddler. She is changing every day and seems to learn something new every day.

Stats: She weighs 20 lb. 5 oz and is 30 1/4 inches tall. Her head measured a huge number that I can't remember. She is in 30th percentile for weight and 90th for height and noggin measure.

She is walking. I would say more walking than crawling now. I don't think running is too far away. She is also climbing. She can get onto the couch all by herself.

She is very curious, wanting to get into everything. She wants to play with anything other than her toys. Another new love is being able to face forward in the car. At first I think it was to see new scenery, now I think it is because she can watch movies on the DVD player in the Suburban. Right now her favorite is Tinkerbell and the great fairy rescue.

Her vocabulary includes daddy, mama, bye, bath, baba, Bubba, up. She is trying to repeat things, so we are starting to watch our language.

11 Months Old

I know, I skipped 10 months. Not sure how I managed that. Oh yeah, Grace keeps me busy. Although, since being laid off from work I have been able to spend so much precious time with her. I am really liking it. So much, that I am going to try to do it permanently. Keep your fingers crossed for that to work.

Back to the 11 month update. Grace is changing every day. She is trying to talk, trying to walk and trying to play with all the electronics in the house. Right now her vocabulary includes Mama, Mom, Dada, Dad, Bubba, Ba (bath), Baba (bottle).
She crawls like a crazy woman and can push herself up to stand in the middle of the floor, but still hasn't taken those first steps. I think it will be any day though.

She loves to play with blocks and cups. She is constantly putting the blocks in the cups and taking them back out. Quite fun to watch her discover how things work. She also loves phones, remotes, dvd players and cable boxes.

Here are a couple pictures from the last couple days.

Now that she is 11 months old, she is trying to convince us that she can drive.

Dada's hats are a favorite.

9 Months Old...

What an amazing journey to watch my daughter grow and learn. I can't believe that she is 9 months old, she will be one year old in 3 short months. Wow.

She is exploring more every day. She is crawling like a crazy person. She pulls herself up to everything, but hasn't started taking any steps yet. She pushes the limit of things she can touch and play with all the time. Her new discovery is the dvd player and cable box. 'NO' is the word we use a lot. She seems to know what it means already.

She has discovered food. LOVES food. We feed her the usual baby stuff including puffs (which is crack for babies in my opinion). We also give her bites and nibbles from food we are eating. She loves french fries, fruit including bananas, watermelon, blueberries. Loves vegetables. Noodles of any kind are also a favorite.

Mickey Mouse seems to be the new favorite on TV. Hotdog dance always grabs her attention and gets her moving.

Her sister Haley and brother Tyler were here for 3 weeks of the summer so far. They will be back again in a week for the rest of the summer. Right now she is missing them. Adjusting to having them not here has been rough on her. She loves her siblings.

Here are the names she goes by, besides Grace...
Gracie
Gracie Lou
Grace Marie (when she is in trouble)
Squidbert
Sweet knees
Sweetie
Biscuit

I love you Gracie.

Seven months old and crawling

Grace Marie started crawling during the last week. Every day she is expanding her 'crawl zone'. She is also starting to hear the word NO from Mommy and Daddy. She is developing quite the personality and attitude. So fun to watch it develop.

We also took Grace to get pictures taken last week. It was really fun to do. The photographer was great and I think she really captured Grace's personality. They put together this collection. I love it.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!

My baby girl is six months old. I can't believe it. She is becoming quite the character. Definitely has a mind of her own. Knows what she wants and when she wants it, she wants it NOW!! She is cuddly and hugable, it kills me to leave her every day when I go to work. She is also kind of a Mama's girl right now. Makes my heart melt when she reaches for me to pick her up or hold her.

She is starting to have solids. Fun!! She seems to really like veggies so far. The food adventure has begun. I love seeing her experience all of the tastes and textures.

We went to the doctor yesterday for the 6 month check and shots. She took the shots like a champ. Stats are good. She weighed 15 lbs. 8 oz. which put her at 40th percentile. And she is 27 1/2 inches tall. Her height is in the 90th percentile. So she is still tall and skinny, which makes me jealous.

Four Months Old

Wow! Where has the time gone? My little bundle that I took home from the hospital is now a wiggle worm that was trying to roll off the doctor's table at her appointment yesterday. Grace is four months old and I love seeing her change every day. Here are the stats from her appointment. We were able to get a little weight on her.

Weight 13 lbs. 4 oz 46%
Height 25 1/2 inches 90%
Head 17 inches 94%

So we have a skinny, tall, big headed child. At least she doesn't look as awkward as her numbers look. I think that we made a pretty cute child.
