9 Months Old...

What an amazing journey to watch my daughter grow and learn. I can't believe that she is 9 months old, she will be one year old in 3 short months. Wow.

She is exploring more every day. She is crawling like a crazy person. She pulls herself up to everything, but hasn't started taking any steps yet. She pushes the limit of things she can touch and play with all the time. Her new discovery is the dvd player and cable box. 'NO' is the word we use a lot. She seems to know what it means already.

She has discovered food. LOVES food. We feed her the usual baby stuff including puffs (which is crack for babies in my opinion). We also give her bites and nibbles from food we are eating. She loves french fries, fruit including bananas, watermelon, blueberries. Loves vegetables. Noodles of any kind are also a favorite.

Mickey Mouse seems to be the new favorite on TV. Hotdog dance always grabs her attention and gets her moving.

Her sister Haley and brother Tyler were here for 3 weeks of the summer so far. They will be back again in a week for the rest of the summer. Right now she is missing them. Adjusting to having them not here has been rough on her. She loves her siblings.

Here are the names she goes by, besides Grace...
Gracie
Gracie Lou
Grace Marie (when she is in trouble)
Squidbert
Sweet knees
Sweetie
Biscuit

I love you Gracie.

Seven months old and crawling

Grace Marie started crawling during the last week. Every day she is expanding her 'crawl zone'. She is also starting to hear the word NO from Mommy and Daddy. She is developing quite the personality and attitude. So fun to watch it develop.

We also took Grace to get pictures taken last week. It was really fun to do. The photographer was great and I think she really captured Grace's personality. They put together this collection. I love it.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!

My baby girl is six months old. I can't believe it. She is becoming quite the character. Definitely has a mind of her own. Knows what she wants and when she wants it, she wants it NOW!! She is cuddly and hugable, it kills me to leave her every day when I go to work. She is also kind of a Mama's girl right now. Makes my heart melt when she reaches for me to pick her up or hold her.

She is starting to have solids. Fun!! She seems to really like veggies so far. The food adventure has begun. I love seeing her experience all of the tastes and textures.

We went to the doctor yesterday for the 6 month check and shots. She took the shots like a champ. Stats are good. She weighed 15 lbs. 8 oz. which put her at 40th percentile. And she is 27 1/2 inches tall. Her height is in the 90th percentile. So she is still tall and skinny, which makes me jealous.

Four Months Old

Wow! Where has the time gone? My little bundle that I took home from the hospital is now a wiggle worm that was trying to roll off the doctor's table at her appointment yesterday. Grace is four months old and I love seeing her change every day. Here are the stats from her appointment. We were able to get a little weight on her.

Weight 13 lbs. 4 oz 46%
Height 25 1/2 inches 90%
Head 17 inches 94%

So we have a skinny, tall, big headed child. At least she doesn't look as awkward as her numbers look. I think that we made a pretty cute child.

SNOW

We had a surprise snow storm today. It was cool to have it, even though it won't be sticking around. The kids were able to play in it and sled down a hill in the neighborhood. Grace got to see her first snow, as if she knows what to do with it or know how much fun it is to play in. It certainly didn't take long for her little cheeks and nose to turn red.

Steve had the pleasure of pulling Haley down the hill on a homemade sled.

Two Month Checkup

Well, Mommy and Grace both made it through the first round of shots at her two month appt. Wow! I knew that I was going to be emotional, but I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to see someone hurting my baby. I know that they are giving her vaccinations for all the right reasons, but it doesn't make it any easier.

Now for the current stats:
Height 24.25 inches
Weight 11 lbs 13 oz

Her weight is now in the 70% range of the charts, height is in the 90% range. She is growing just great and the doctor said everything looked perfect. After chatting with doctor about amount of breast milk I am getting when I pump, she is thinking I may not be producing enough for her, even though she seems very content when she eats. So I am now taking fenugreek and drinking 'mothers milk' tea to see if I can get even bigger boobs...Yippee! Whatever I need to do to make my baby happy and healthy.

FIRST SANTA

Not the most exciting event for Gracie, but she is going to have to realize that she is here for our entertainment. This will probably be the only sleeping on the lap of the ever merry one that we will have. Next year will probably end with a wet spot on the old red suit and lots of tears.
